Fortnite Season 4 is only a couple of days away. As is customary, Epic are releasing daily teasers to lead up to the end of the season and the start of the new one. We know that Season 4 will have a Marvel theme and that Epic are tying the worlds together through the in-game comics that are developing as the days pass. We’re not focusing on the comics, here. Instead, we’re taking a look at the simpler teasers that Epic are releasing on social media. They’re releasing a letter each day, so far spelling out N-E-X-U. Most fans assume that the finished product will read “NEXUS,” which is a fair assumption, at this point. This word bears more significance than anything we’re being shown in the comics leading up to the season. In fact, it’s one of the primary reasons that some fans think that Season 4 will be the final season of Chapter 2, as we outlined in a separate article. Take a look at that theory here.

Despite “Nexus” being the central focus of the Season 4 teasers, a lot of players don’t know what it means – nor the significance of the term in both Fortnite and in Marvel Comics. That’s what we’re going to explore, below.“It’s ALL connected. Pay Attention.” – Donald MustardLet’s start with the definition of Nexus: “A connection or series of connections linking two or more things.” This is pretty straightforward; Nexus = connection. Marvel and Fortnite are connecting. It doesn’t go deeper than that, does it?

Well, of course, it does. Nexus is significant in Marvel Comics as “The Nexus of All Realities.” There are several Nexus connections present across Marvel comics – each connecting the intertwined dimensions with one another. We’re no scholars in Marvel Comics, but are aware of several Nexus points across multiple storylines in the comics. These Nexus points are what allow the multiverse to exist. In many ways, they serve as a plot device that allows writers to expand outside of the cannon Marvel Comics timelines and explore alternative stories that wouldn’t be possible within the framework of one reality. The Nexus is the hub that connects all of these realities. It goes deeper, however. Do you remember the Unvaulting event? The one where the bulk of the community chose the Drum Gun, angering a chunk of the hardcore player base? Yeah, “The Unvaulting Event” wasn’t the official name of that; it was the community-given name for it.The real name for the event, you ask? You guessed it: The Nexus Event. We entered the Fortnite Nexus and came out on the other side.Credit: FortToryWhen you combine this with the connection to the Marvel Universe, it virtually confirms the existence of multiple realities within Fortnite. Perhaps, Fortnite is the Nexus of All Realities.

This conclusion makes a lot of sense. So far, Epic have included film, TV, and real-world elements from different sources in the Fortnite world. People forget that Drift is originally from our world and that several Fortnite elements were found in major cities leading up to Season 5.In our opinion, Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 will finally reveal that Fortnite is the Nexus of All Realities – our world, Marvel, Star Wars, Stranger Things, DC – all of it. It’s all connected by Fortnite: The Nexus. In the words of Donald Mustard, “It’s ALL connected. Pay attention.”Read More
