We finally have our first glimpse at Robert Pattinson as the latest caped crusader in The Batman. Though filming was forced to shut down in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic, a teaser trailer debuted at the DC Fandome on Saturday, August 22, giving fans a look at the new era of the iconic franchise and the actor’s very emo-looking Bruce Wayne. Not only does it provides the first full look at Pattinson in the Batsuit and driving the Batmobile, but it showcases the Dark Knight’s brutal approach to fighting crime in Gotham City. We also got to see a hint of Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as mob boss Carmine Falcone, and Colin Farrell’s The Penguin. While fans have a lot of feelings about The Batman’s first trailer, the internet couldn’t get over Pattinson’s sad boi vibe and undeniable range. He’s not perfect.”He also said that The Batman isn’t an origin story, according to Deadline. “A lot of the other stories showed he had to master his fear and himself, to become Batman,” he said. “We met in the middle of this criminological experiment and watch him make mistakes. He’s not having any of the effect that he want to have, that’s when the murders begin to happen.” The film is set to start filming again in early September and is scheduled for release on October 1, 2021. “I’m very anxious to get back to work and continue to form this beloved character,” Robert Pattinson said via satellite at the panel. “I’ve always been a massive fan.”Read More
