At just 16 years young, rapper YungManny has built up a formidable résumé, highlighting the origins of the DMV flow, his ear for R&B-based melodies and a growth spurt with seemingly every release in his catalog. He blended comedy and hip-hop with the memorable “All My Guys Are Ballers” and built up a report with Xanman. Today he returns with the emotional “Blessings In Disguise,” a narrative music video that highlights drug addiction, unrequited love and family disputes fit for a Netflix originals series pilot.
It’s not every day that you see a teenager carry the charisma he displays in the visual. He plays a passive bystander while he watches the interconnected stories unfold, showing off his singing chops while reminiscing about a girl not returning his passion or thoughtfulness. He ditches the humor displayed in his past efforts but is still self-aware enough to finish the single with some optimism.
Earlier today YungManny joined an All-Star cast for “495” for Kevin Durant’s upcoming Basketball County documentary with other stars from the region like Rico Nasty, IDK, Big Flock, Big JAM and Weensey.
