Epic have announced the Daredevil Cup – the first cup in the Marvel Knockout Super Series – and a chance to win a free Daredevil skin.

As the competitive Fortnite season continues along, Epic are releasing more ways to compete for those who aren’t fighting for their spot in the FNCS. In fact, they just announced a Fortnite tournament that has little to do with the base game mode.
Instead of a traditional tournament, Epic have announced the Marvel Knockout Super Series. This tournament series will feature “four competitive cups centered around the Marvel Knockout game mode.” This will all culminate in one $1 million tournament on November 21.
For now, however, the only scheduled event is the Daredevil Cup, which is why you came to this article in the first place. Those who place highly in each region of the Daredevil Cup will earn the Daredevil skin for free.
The Daredevil Cup will take place on October 14 – only two days from the announcement. Players will need to place within the top 800, 500, 200, or 100 based on their region. Here’s a look at the scoring system and placement requirements for the Daredevil skin.
Scoring System

  • 1st: 100 points
  • 2nd: 50 points
  • 3rd-4th: 25 points
  • 5th-8th: 15 points
  • 9th-16th: 5 points

Required Placement for free Daredevil skin

  • Europe: 1st – 800th
  • NA-East: 1st – 500th
  • NA-West: 1st – 200th
  • Brazil: 1st – 200th
  • Asia: 1st – 100th
  • Oceana: 1st – 100th
  • Middle East: 1st – 100th

As is the case with all Fortnite tournaments, players will need to complete the two-factor authentication in order to compete and earn this free skin.
For those who don’t know, Marvel Knockout is a version of Operation: Knockout, which Epic introduced to Fortnite in Season 3. Instead of choosing random weapons, teams use the same hero abilities which cycle in each of the four rounds.

The Daredevil Cup is only the first of four cups in the Marvel Knockout Super Series, which means it’s likely the first of four free skins we have a chance to earn. We might see the likes of Venom, Black Panther, and other Marvel heroes earn their own free Fortnite skins.
If you don’t want to play in the event – or don’t place highly enough – and still want the Daredevil skin, don’t worry. It will be in the Item Shop after the event concludes. Good luck to all of the competitors.

Patch Notes

Fortnite’s third major update of Season 4 has arrived in the form of the 14.30 patch, which brings a major Combat Shotgun buff to players on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

Superheroes are the name of the game in Chapter 2 Season 4, as they take over the Fortnite island and prepare for a massive war with the evil Galactus, who’s coming to change the reality of the game forever.
With a battle on the horizon, Epic Games have decided to adjust the Combat Shotgun to give you a helping hand, while also introducing some new modes for fans to sink their teeth into.

Loot Pool changes
The biggest news coming out of the October 13 patch is the adjustments Epic have made to the loot pool. The Combat Shotgun has been given a major tweak, which Epic hope will make it more useful throughout the rest of the season.

The developers confirmed that they had increased the range at which it deals damage, so hopefully players will be able to take down enemies at slightly longer distances, although Epic stated that they would be asking for feedback about the change.
Elsewhere, they’ve also announced that they are rotating in some new superpowers to keep things fresh, which will be available around the island.
The Combat Shotgun has received a buff.Rally Royale LTM
Along with the buff, Epic have also dropped a new LTM for fans to sink their teeth into. Rally Royale is all about getting from Point A to Point B as fast as possible, though it won’t be easy.
In this mode, your task is to collect tickets before anyone else. If you’re first, a finish line will appear on the map, which you need to speed to if you want to be crowned as the winner. This LTM is expected to go live “later in the week,” Epic confirmed.
Rally Royale will test your driving skills. Marvel Knockout Super Series
Fortnite players can get their hands on the new Daredevil skin early by winning one of the Marvel Knockout Super Series tournaments that are included in v14.30. These elimination cups begin on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
There will be four total tournaments, with anyone who competes in all of them rewarded with an exclusive Nexus War glider.
Bug Fixes
As usual, the Fortnite team has also added a number of bugs and issues to their official Trello board. This week’s patch will include fixes for many of these recurring problems, including a series of Party Royale glitches, and plenty more.
Here is the full list of bug changes set for v14.30:
General

  • Audio of Last Forever Emote playing even with licensed audio muted.

Battle Royale

  • Placing a map marker cancels movement.

Creative Mode

  • Grass is not removed when placing objects on the ground.
  • Some players not granted items after first round in some team games.

Leak

Published 18 hours agoon October 12, 2020

Fortnite Season 4 might be the most active season of Chapter 2 from a development standpoint. We’re getting significant changes every other week that include new bosses, new items or abilities, and even a map change here and there.
This week, players expect to see the v14.30 update come to the game. We have a few predictions about what this update will bring, and are now adding another element to that list: new hero abilities.
Fortnite data miner, Hypex, released two leaked abilities on Twitter, called “Fire Ball” and “Fire Jump.” These are, likely, related to the leaked “particles” that other data miners found in the game files last week.
The previous leak had the particles connected to a character with the code name “Cherry.” This name means little other than the first letter – C. When fans combine all of the recent leaks with the cover of an unreleased Marvel/Fortnite crossover comic, it led them to believe that Captain Marvel could be coming to the game in the near future.

Of course, an ability in Fortnite doesn’t mean that the corresponding character will enter, immediately. We already have abilities for Venom and Black Panther – neither of which have skins or bosses in Fortnite.
We could also see the new abelites relegated to the Marvel Knockout mode. This seems to be the testing space for abilities before they enter core modes – as seen with Thor’s Hammer ability and Storm’s Whirlwind Blast.
For now, we can only speculate as we wait for the new patch to come out. We expect this to happen Wednesday, as the secret “Downfall” challenge is set to switch at that time.
We’ll keep you posted when we learn more, and will have you covered with all of the patch notes, leaked skins, and everything else you need to know when v14.30 comes out. Stay tuned!

Patch Notes

With the next Fortnite update, v14.30, expected this week, here’s what we’re expecting.

Published 19 hours agoon October 12, 2020

Fortnite Season 4 has been the busiest season of the new chapter – by far. We’re getting constant updates, new mythic abilities, map changes, and a lot more for which players have been asking.
Based on what data miners are finding in the game files, Epic are already testing the v14.50 update. We still haven’t seen v14.30, however, and it’s been two weeks since the last update.
We haven’t had an official announcement of the new patch, yet, but it stands to reason that we’ll be getting one tomorrow, October 7. Here’s what to expect.

Epic Games is already testing v14.50, which I think is even more indicative that we will be getting a new update this week. (Noticed by @GMatrixGames)If we get a new update every 2 weeks from now on, we might even get v14.60 before the next season starts!— ShiinaBR – Fortnite Leaks (@ShiinaBR) October 6, 2020

Bug Fixes
As always, we can expect some bug fixes with this patch. The list is a bit smaller than usual – only including three fixes – but there aren’t a ton of glitches in the game right now.
Here are all of the bugs listed as “Fixed in Next Game Update” on the Fortnite Community Issues Trello Board:

  • Placing a map marker cancels movement.
  • Inventory shuffling after respawning in Team Rumble.
  • Audio of Last Forever Emote playing even with licensed audio muted.

New Hero Ability
Judging by the past Fortnite release schedule, it seems likely that we’ll be getting a new hero ability with the Fortnite v14.30 update – whether that’s a brand new ability or one coming from Marvel LTMs to the core game.

We’ve recently seen leaks that told us about Mystique’s mythic Machine Pistols and an unnamed hero ability. Either of these could come to Fortnite in the next update.
Fortnitemares 2020
It’s spooky season, which means that Fortnitemares is right around the corner. Even if we don’t see the Fortnitemares map changes this week, we’ll probably see them included in the update – meaning data miners will find them in the game files.

We don’t have a ton of knowledge about what Fortnitemares 2020 will hold, but we can expect some map changes, fog, and new skins. One leak we did hear about even has Midas returning to The Authority as a ghost.
Of course, we can also expect some leaked skins and, potentially, unreleased POIs. Based on how busy this season has been, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of changes we didn’t expect.
We’ll keep you posted if/when Epic announce the downtime for the new patch and will post all of the player-created patch notes to the website. Make sure to follow us on Twitter @FortniteINTEL so you don’t miss anything.
