Halloween is ten days away, and gamers are eagerly awaiting what this means for Fortnite and the annual Fortnitemares event. This year, we’ve already seen several major components of the event leaked; including the theme, some map changes, and some skins that should be coming to the Item Shop.
Ahead, we’ll take a look at everything you need to know before the event comes to Fortnite. We expect to see Fortnitemares 202 kick off tomorrow, October 20, and will update you when we know more about the release date. For now, here’s what we know.
The most recent leak surrounding Fortnitemares 2020 was the theme of the event. The leak came to us from the official Russian Fortnite News Feed, which was also a clear sign that the update was imminent.
We’ve heard a lot about Midas returning for Fortnitemares, which all seems to be confirmed, for now. Based on these leaks, Midas should be returning to The Authority with some Ghost Henchmen. He’ll also, reportedly, be carrying a Gold Scar instead of his patented Drum Gun.
Epic GamesHusks Returning
Another early Fortnitemares leak told us that the sound files for the Zombie Husk spawning cubes were updated. Naturally, when an asset like this is updated, it’s safe to assume that it will return to the game in the near future.
This is bad news for a lot of Fortnite players who don’t like the hordes of Zombie Husks destroying boxes and ruining low-ground late-games. At this point, we can only hope that the Husks are isolated to a single POI rather than randomly spawning all over the map for several weeks.
New Items and Consumables
One of the bigger leaks coming out of the v14.30 update was the addition of Fortnitemares consumables and items to the game files. According to Hypex, Tabor Hill, and other leakers, rideable Broomsticks will be coming to Fortnite and should have similar mechanics to Glider Re-Deploy or Silver Surfer’s Surfboard.
On top of that, it looks like the vegetable and fruit boxes will be replaced with Halloween-themed tubs of candy. Each candy will, likely, have similar effects to the other consumables that are already in Fortnite.

Most of the leaked Halloween skins that were in the v14.30 update have already been released, but there were a few that slipped through the cracks. Two skins have text files with no images attached, suggesting they’ll come to Fortnitemares in the next update.
These skins are called “Fancy Kevin” and “Dancefloor Soldier,” and were leaked by data miners Mang0e and Hypex. Again, we don’t know what these skins look like, but here’s a concept of Fancy Kevin from artist @easkateconcepts on Twitter.
As far as another PvE mode, challenges, and everything else that past Fortnitemares have included; we’ll have to wait and see. We expect this update to hit Fortnite tomorrow morning, October 21. If this is the case, then 2020 will feature the longest Fortnitemares season in history – very on-brand for the season’s we’ve had this year.
