adidas and MLS have been official partners for 25 years, so to celebrate a quarter-century of goals, saves and penalty kicks, the two have launched a FORWARD25 collection of new kits for all 26 MLS franchises. Acknowledging the league’s history while looking ahead to a generation full of new teams, rising stars and scintillating moments, the jerseys are rooted in the past but facing firmly towards the future.
All of the new jersey designs feature localized details, with inspiration ranging from Big Apple bridges and architecture for New York FC to embossed black herons for Inter Miami FC and bright music-inspired tones for Nashville SC. Each also features old-school adidas EQT Three Stripe designs, a nod to original ’90s MLS kits.
These new uniforms were unveiled at a recent event in New York City, and modeled by an athlete, personality, MLS great or artist with connections to each club’s home city. Notable names included famed streamer Ninja (New York Red Bulls), R&B duo Majid Jordan (Toronto FC), All-Pro Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (Houston Dynamo), rapper Trinidad Jame$ (Atlanta United), actor/director Colin Hanks (LAFC) and Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott (Philadelphia Union). Each was presented in standalone style, then worked into a casual look by stylist Zara Mirkin, showcasing soccer’s influence in the street culture sphere.
