The album was released on April 25, 1995 and was considered one of Mobb Deep’s best albums of their career. It was also regarded as a cornerstone of New York hardcore rap. Mobb Deep’s hardcore, street lyrics blends in perfectly over the dark, gritty, grimey production. Their lyrics contains stories of what goes around the way of not only their borough Queens but their stomping grounds of Queensbridge Projects. The album rap features are Nas, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Crystal Johnson, Mobb Deep affiliate Big Noyd and A Tribe Called Quest’s own Q-Tip. The production sound was handled by The Abstract Q-Tip and Mobb Deep, who were around the time were starting to produce their own beats. Today, the album is still considered a hip-hop classic.
