J. Cole Is The First Hip-Hop Artist To Go Platinum In 25 Years With No Features

North Carolina lyricist and Roc Nation hip-hop artist J. Cole has finally received his first platinum plaque for his third album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The album was released last year on December 9, 2014 with very little promotion. Not only it’s his first platinum plaque but he is also the first hip-hop artist to go platinum in 25 years with no features ever since Vanilla Ice’s debut To The Extreme. Congratulations to J. Cole and the Dreamville Records family.
