One of the best stoner comedies of all time is heading back to the theaters for one night only. Friday will be shown in 400 theaters across the United States on April 20th on Friday at 7:30pm. This year will mark as the film’s 20th anniversary ever since its 1995 release, which stars Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. The film will be shown as the director’s cut edition including behind-the-scenes footage and interviews after the film airs. Along with film’s 20th anniversary release, there will also be a reissue of the soundtrack on vinyl only. Friday has not only one of the best films in hip-hop culture but one of the best films in American culture as well.
Ice Cube has recently spoke to Buzzfeed News and here’s what he had to say about the movie’s 20th anniversary release. “For the theaters, for New Line Cinema, for the fans to want to pay homage to the movie in this way is cool. It lets you know how much people appreciate it and how much fun it is and it lets you know that Friday is now a part of the American fabric.”
So on Friday, April 20th, if you don’t have anything else to do, go see the movie.
