Artist of the Month: August 2015 Ms.Neicey

Neicey (born October 1) is a R&B/Pop singer from Shelby, MS. Her stage name “Neicey,” is short for her birth name Kevineesia. Neicey attended Robinsonville Elementary & Tunica Middle School in Tunica, MS, Camp Creek Middle in College Park, GA, and is currently attending Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, GA as a honor student. Neicey began her singing career at the age of 4 by singing a variety of music. Neicey took her singing career more seriously during her short time residing in Dallas, Texas with her parents. In Dallas, she auditioned for the Waxahachie Youth Choir & Wedgeworth Elementary School Choir of Waxahachie, Texas. She was chosen to sing soprano solo parts in both choirs. While living in Texas, Neicey met a teacher at the Dunaway Elementary School & the Waxahachie High School of Performing Arts, who while she was practicing piano and choir, gave her valuable instruction on her voice. This teacher spent so much time with her; he became the closest thing to vocal training she received in all the moments of her singing career from the ages of 9-10 years old. Neicey has captivated audiences from young to old, black to white, old school to new school, and Neicey is just getting started. However, summer 2010 Neicey’s parents decided to move back to Mississippi to help her get a better knowledge of the music business as well as attend many musical shows, talent shows, and etc. In June 2010 at Broad Street High School Talent Show, Neicey won her first trophy as the 1st Place winner singing Jackson’s 5 “Who’s Loving You” which brought the audience and judges to their feet with a standing ovation. Her second 1st Place win took place 6 miles south of Shelby, MS. Neicey stole the show in Mound Bayou, MS at I.M.E’s Hip Hop Showcase by singing her two new singles, “Too Young 4 Love” & “Show’em How 2 Do It.” A month later, she won 1st Place at Starlite’s Talent Show in Shelby, MS by singing Keri Hilson’s “Breaking Point.” After traveling to Atlanta & Statesboro, GA during show after show, Neicey’s fan base grew swiftly. In 2011, Neicey won 2nd place in Morehouse College Talent Showcase in Atlanta, Georgia. Afterwards, in 2012, Neicey’s parents moved her family to Atlanta, Georgia where they developed their own family record label Sipp Starz Entertainment with Neicey being the first R&B/Pop artist on the label. Neicey knew then, there was no turning back. Moving to Atlanta, Georgia opened up more opportunities and resources for the young R&B/Pop artist. Upon attending Camp Creek Middle, Neicey surely joined the chorus program and was chosen to sing lead vocals both soprano & alto in many musical selections. Neicey initially started artist development at Icon Studios in Atlanta, Georgia with music veteran, mentor, entrepreneur, and consultant Mr. Ian Burke who have managed celebrities Jagged Edge, TLC, Gabbi Rae, X-Scape just to name a few. There were many days and late night studio times, vocal training, songwriting, choreography, & etc. to get Neicey polished to become a professional vocalist & performer. Neicey’s celebrity vocal coach, Mr. Dallas, of Atlanta describes her voice as southern R&B soul. Immediately following the ending of Neicey’s artist development with her music career, she easily tapped in the filming industry. Neicey auditioned for the new reality show “Dallas, I Wanna Sing” which will be airing on Bravo TV coming 2015. Neicey is also starring in the new Ripp Entertainment Films “The Awakening of a Troubled Mind” in which she is playing the actress movie role of the news reporter, Tiffanie Sutter newly released March 2015.
With famous R&B & Pop artists such as Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Keri Hilson, Michael Jackson & The Jacksons, as icons, Neicey created her own diverse style and has begun following in their footsteps. “It has been a long journey for me, but yet I’m determined to do anything to become successful and just be myself” says Neicey. With incorporating a southern soul R&B/Pop voice in the music industry & acting as an actress in the film industry, Neicey is ready to take the world and stage by storm.
